Old-school side-scrolling horror RPG
Mary Had a Little Lamb is a nostalgic first-person horror game that mimics platforms associated with MS-DOS operating systems. The main intention is to feed a demonic lamb so that it can claim more victims. However, certain task requirements may not be clear to the player.
Mary Had a Little Lamb offers some of the same elements that can be attributed to seemingly innocuous games with more disturbing undertones. One prime example can be seen in Homer's Homicide. This game should sit well with fans of retro-based horror platforms.

Anyone who grew up playing DOS-inspired games will already be familiar with the appeal of Mary Had a Little Lamb. However, modern audio effects have been added in order to provide a more well-rounded experience. In addition to audio effects, it also provides nostalgic graphics and simple user controls.
A truly sinister premise
Despite the title, this game bears little resemblance to the fairy tale of the same name. Players will be required to perform various tasks, such as luring children into a well and killing a group of cows. Therefore, Mary Had a Little Lamb is unsuitable for younger gamers.
An interesting throwback
Another unique aspect of Mary Had a Little Lamb involves rather staccato character movements. There's even a series of sound effects that appear to have been ripped from older gaming platforms, such as the Atari 5200. A limited color palette and simplified narrative instructions provide an additional flavor of days gone by.
A simple yet disturbing game
Like other games, including Eggs for Bart, the brutal nature of Mary Had a Little Lamb far outweighs any otherwise cartoon-like undertones. There are also many missions to complete and, perhaps more interestingly, a surprise ending for those who make it through.
